Farnaz Kani is born in Tehran, Iran in 1975. Her childhood was filled with various influences that shaped her future vision in art. Her maternal grandmother, Farangis Fotowat-Bangipoor had a great impact on her lifestyle; she was a designer, graduated in the sixties from the Paris Academy School of Fashion. Later in 1983, at the age of 8 she met her teacher and mentor, Taha Behbahani, who taught her how to create and appreciate beauty, an encounter that never ended. Farnaz appreciates him and values this experience endlessly.

 

Farnaz left Iran in 1998 to continue studying abroad. She moved to Florence, Italy and before Dentistry, she studied Art and graduated from Accademia di belle Arti di Firenze. She then continued her education and participated in several private courses in sculpture and design. She also  followed her long life passion for gems and obtained a diploma from the GIA (Gemology Institute of America).

 

Farnaz is widely traveled. The experience of getting acquainted with various cultures and people undoubtedly facilitated her exposure to various kind of beauty. The collection of her work reflects this rich experience for which she is truly grateful.
